We are looking for a Studentische*n Mitarbeiter*in (student worker) to join our Campaigns team. We are a dedicated team of 30 staff located across Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Poland, the UK, the Netherlands and Slovenia) connecting digitally every day.
You will join our dynamic, growing team to help us build a thriving, active community of people who care about nature, climate change, human rights, inequality, supporting good ideas like free public transport, and dropping bad ones like single-use plastics. We are looking for people who above all else will be committed to the work we do, and to building a community that wants to fight for a better Europe.
About the role
The role will be about supporting our German campaigns team (50%). You will work closely with our German Senior Campaigner and our German Digital Organiser. Another part of your role (50%) will be about supporting the wider campaigns team working in different countries across Europe.
The role includes Technical set-up of emails: Setting up petitions and email and twitter actions as well as editing copy.
The role is dynamic: it will give you the chance to do different kinds of things that overlap with your interests and the organisation’s needs as our strategy develops over time. For example: helping us think through tactics, translation, design, working with volunteers to help community management
About you
You are a fluent German speaker
You speak English (your fluency in English is to a degree that you can work internally in an English-speaking environment and can translate into your language(s)
You are enrolled as a student at a University or University of Applied Sciences
You are excited to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment and team who are deeply committed to changing Europe for the better
You are tech-savvy, keen to learn about new tools and acquire new skills (from basic coding to data analysis to social media tools)
You are interested in our topics, you are keen on getting to know NGO work or political campaigning

Terms and conditions
A 1-2 year student worker contract 15 - 20 hours/week (you must be enrolled into university during the duration of your contract)

We provide work equipment and a workplace in our office in Berlin Kreuzberg, work can also be organised remotely with an introduction week in Berlin.

The core of the role is the “French Language Digital Organiser” for 25 hours/week.
This means:
Manage the WeMove Europe community in French :
Speaking to our community via email, Facebook, Twitter, phone calls, and other channels as we develop them
Proofreading content
Digging out data
Helping us improve user journeys and the overall experience of our community-
Producing creative and engaging content for social media in your language(s)
Tech set-up: campaigns and mass mailings to members
The kinds of things you could be doing as our strategy develops over time: helping us think through tactics, editing, translation, design, working with volunteers to help community management
For people with extra availability and the right skillset, there could be an additional 10 hours/week, as an“External Communication Officer”. This means:
Keeping our websites up-to-date
Maintaining campaigns documentation and reporting
Annual activity report preparation
Supporting our external facing online comms and branding
About you

Your tasks will include:
Co-create WeMove Europe’s European campaigns, with the Campaigns Team and Campaign Management Team
Identify campaign opportunities and develop and lead on campaigns
Help us understand the political dynamics in Spain by keeping connected to local movements, alternative thinking and researching policy processes within your national context as it connects to the EU level
Write strong, compelling copy in Spanish and tailor it to your local context
Manage email communications with our Spanish members, including setting up and sending emails using our online campaigning tools (Speakout and CiviCRM), and analysing data and user engagement
You'll analyse statistics on our member’s activities to make it easier for them to engage
Build and maintain relations with partners in NGOs and movements in Spain and EU-wide
Fundraise from individual donors in Spain
Organise “offline” actions such as demonstrations, petition handovers etc.
Work with a part-time organiser to help manage the Spanish community
Occasionally travel nationally and EU-wide for team meetings, retreats, stakeholder and partner meetings, and petition deliveries
About you
You are a digital campaigning native -- comfortable with and excited by new software and online tools
You write great copy and have great writing skills in Spanish
You are deeply committed to working in Spain and Europe for bold, structural change and believe in empowering the people around you to do the same
You have experience with non-partisan political campaigning, ideally online and digital campaigning as well
You have strong understanding of the political and social context in Spain as well as a some understanding of the European context.
You are driven by results and crave more data, keen to run tests that are backed by statistical significance, and are always looking to improve your work

About the role
The role is about injecting colour and activism into the EU institutional corridors by channelling the collective energy of members of the WeMove Europe community in Brussels. It is also about leveraging WeMove Europe’s potential to play a ‘broker’ role between peoples movements and the EU institutions. First and foremost, this means working with the campaigns team, our community and partners to organise and run engaging, visible, impactful campaigning actions in Brussels - with a view to raising awareness and shifting thinking at the EU institutions. Second, the role is about opening doors and facilitating the building of long-term relationships with key actors e.g. MEPs, EC officials and partners. Third, it is about increasing the visibility of WeMove Europe in Brussels circles online and offline. This role sits inside the WeMove Europe campaigns team and supports the work of the Executive Director in Brussels. This is an 80% role for one year, with a possibility of extension.
What would it entail?
Organisation of disruptive actions in Brussels
Growing our network of Brussels based partners (movements, activists, ngos) to organise with
Building relationships with political targets, MEPs, assistants, EU officials, media
Organising events and meetings, capturing outcomes, ensuring follow up
Getting visibility for WeMove Europe on EU/Brussels social media
Comms and social media content preparation from tweets to blogs to background briefings
General support to the Executive Director on comms and campaigns work
These priorities will shift over time and every week is likely to be different.
